The West Virginia Statewide Interoperability Executive Committee (SIEC) established by West Virginia code 15-14-5 is the governing body of the Statewide Interoperable Radio Network (SIRN). This act is also known as the SIRN Act. One of the functions of the SIRN Act defines the makeup of the SIEC and established the 6 Regional Interoperability Committee's (RIC's). The RIC's in West Virginia mirror the six West Virginia Homeland Security Regions.
The West Virginia SIEC meets monthly to discuss current SIRN issues, monitor SIRN system status and implementation and provide guidance for the betterment of the system. As part of the SIEC, there are several standing subcommittee's that meet in conjunction with the main SIEC meeting. Each of the subcommittees provide valuable insight and perform vital work within their respective group then report to the main SIEC for implementation of goals and objectives.
