The West Virginia specific Auxiliary Communications course (WV AUXCOMM) is adapted from CISA's AUXCOMM course. Students who successfully complete the WV AUXCOMM course are recognized as AUXCOMM personnel within the State of West Virginia. This is not the same recognition afforded students who complete the federal AUXCOMM course.
The WV AUXCOMM course assists amateurs/groups interested in emergency communications in understanding the communication roles that are needed in today’s expanding / collapsing Incident Command System (ICS) environment. Amateur radio operators receiving this training will learn how they can better assist Emergency Communication Managers in ICS environments throughout the State of West Virginia.
This is a great opportunity for the West Virginia Amateur Radio Community to support of our Federal, State, and Local First Responder and emergency management communities.
